天气凉快了吗？关于处暑的英语你知道多少？

暑假即将结束，有关暑期的一切也将成为过去，当然也包括炎热的天气啦~

处暑（End of Heat）是一年24节气中的第14个，今年的处暑从8月23日开始，到9月6日结束。

The traditional Chinese lunar calendar divides the year into 24 solar terms. End of Heat, the 14th solar term of the year, begins this year on Aug 23 and ends on Sep 6.

“处”，止也，暑气至此而止。处暑过后，我国大部分地区将告别夏日，进入秋季。但在某些地区，特别是南方，秋天来得稍晚，大家还要忍受一阵子炎热的天气。处暑对于农民来说，也是忙碌的收获时节。

End of Heat implies that most parts in China are getting rid of the hot summer and entering autumn. But in some areas, especially in South China, autumn is late in coming and people are still bothered by hot weather. End of Heat is also the busy harvest season for farmers.

处暑时节，都有哪些传统习俗呢？

秋高出游

9月初，长城以北地区将早早迎来秋高气爽的天气，出游是个不错的选择，而且还能观赏到由夏季逐渐过渡到秋季的自然景色。

In China, regions beyond the Great Wall will enter autumn in early September. People can enjoy the scenery as it changes gradually from summer to autumn.

谨防秋乏

俗话说“春困秋乏”，随着天气见凉，人们往往会感到倦怠、疲倦。这是人体需要休息的标志，因为在夏天我们消耗了过多的能量。保持充足睡眠，积极锻炼，养一些室内植物都会有所帮助。

There is a saying that, "People tend to feel sleepy in spring, doze in summer and feel tired in autumn." As the weather becomes cool during End of Heat, many people will feel languid and weary, which is called "autumn weariness". It is a sign that the human body needs rest, since people have consumed excessive energy in the summer. Get enough sleep, do more exercises and keep plants indoor to help.

马上学：英文中weary可以表示“疲倦的”，其它和wear有关的说法,wear out, wear down, wear off也表达“精疲力竭，体力损耗”。

花样吃鸭

在“民以食为天”的国度，似乎每个节气都有其相对应的美食。处暑节气，吃鸭子是个传统选择。老鸭“味甘性凉”，吃法也是多种多样，如烤鸭、柠檬鸭、熏鸭、仔姜鸭等等~

Duck has a sweet flavor and according to Chinese traditional medicine it has a "cool" nature. A folk tradition is to eat duck during the End of Heat period. There are many recipes for cooking duck such as roast duck, cooked duck with lemon, smoked duck with walnut dressing and sautéed duck with ginger shoots. The tradition of eating duck during the End of Heat period is still popular in China.

渔业丰收

对渔民来说，处暑也是收获的时节。浙江沿海地区会举办开渔节，即禁渔结束，渔民们可以重新开始捕鱼。由于海水温度高，鱼类成熟且数量庞大，此时也是享用海鲜的好时机！

For fishermen, the End of Heat is a season of harvest. During this period, the Fishing Season Festival is held in regions along the coastline of the East China Sea in Zhejiang province. The festival is held on the day when the fishing ban ends and fishermen can start fishing again. Due to high temperatures in the sea, stocks of fish remain and become mature. People can enjoy many kinds of seafood during this period. (21英语网)
