Dear All,
I am very glad to share with you some views from my side concerning English learning.
As an English major, after four years' study, I accumulated some experience which I hope can help you in some way.
1. A good way to improve listening English and enlarge our vocabulary is to listen to the radio. This is a very
common method, but what I want to point out is that : during listening, please write down the words which are not farmiliar to you. If you heard one word, just got its pronunciation, but don't know how to write, you can use our knowledge about phonetic symbol, just guess the spelling of the word, and check it out with your
electronic dictionary. For example, I learned the word" migrant" when listening to CRI radio programm two years ago. at that time, I just heard something like" my grent" so, I tried to write it like "migrent" "mygrant" or "migrant" or even"mygrint", then I look for it in the dictionary and easily find the correct one. So, in this way, I got
the meaning of "migrant worker"流动民工.
So, I think the most effective way is not just listen, we'd better record some useful info quickly at the same time.
And someone complained that their English listening ability is poor, but another important point they neglected is that enough vocabulary will be much helpful. sometimes we can hear each word pronuciation very clearly, but can not think of the meaning at short time just because we are not familiar enough with the words.
Hehe----献丑了,
to be continued--------
Have a nice day
Judy
