作为一般疑问句的否定回答的首选，“No”在我们生活中无处不在。但是每次回答都用“No”未免有些无趣，让我们来看看还有哪些词也能表达否定的意思吧。

1. nix: 不可以

I suppose mom will say nix to us going to the movies.

我猜妈妈不会同意咱们去看电影。

2. uh-uh: 嗯，哼，表示否定回答的象声词（反义词是uh-huh，表肯定的象声词）

"You didn't have time to go to the store?" "Uh-uh, no chance."

“你没有时间去商店买东西吗?”“嗯，没有。”

3. nope: 不

"Are you going out tonight?" "Nope."

“今晚你要出去吗？”“不出去。”

4. no way: 绝不

"Go on, lend me your bike." "No way!"

“自行车借我吧，行不行啊。”“绝不！”

5. negative: 不行，反对

We received a negative answer to our request.

我们的请求得到了否定的回答。

6. not on your Nelly: 绝不可能

"Perhaps you could take Simon to the party." "Not on your nelly!"

“也许你可以带西蒙去参加聚会。”“没门儿！”

7. fat chance: 不大可能，希望渺茫

"Perhaps they'll invite you." "Fat chance (of that)!"

“也许他们会邀请你。” “不太可能！”

8. no fear: 当然不

"Are you coming to the concert?" "No fear!"
